Job Responsibilities:
- The Nurse Manager for Professional Nursing Development (NM/PND) is responsible for developing and implementing a variety of different programs designed to enhance professional development for nursing students, newly graduated RNs, and current VA nursing staff.
- In addition, the Nurse Manager (NM) is responsible for the supervision of clinical nurse educators assigned to specific areas within Central Virginia Health Care System (CVHCS) and its Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).
- The Nurse Manager for Professional Nursing Development is accountable to the Deputy Associate Chief of Staff for Education/Designated Learning Officer (DLO).
- He/she provides leadership at the facility level related to complex healthcare and education issues that influence the VHA mission, healthcare, and policy development.
- Programs may include but are not limited to: Post-Baccalaureate Nurse Residency, Transition to Practice (TTP), VA Nursing Academic Partnership (VANAP), VA Learning Opportunities Residency (VALOR), Student Nurse Technicians (SNT), New Nursing Employee Orientation (NNEO).

- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
